They were friends that were just mucking about, but then today I received an email from a client who decided that he wanted to wait until the new year to put his property on the market. I thought I'd better check my diary.... just 12 weeks 'till Christmas. I thought "That's plenty of time to buy a house and move in". If you really want to be in for Christmas, it's still doable. I've mentioned this so many times before, that all you need to do is to sing off the same hymn-sheet. Or should I say, carol-sheet.
So how do you do this? Firstly, you've got to find a property that is either vacant, or where the seller is motivated to sell, and has property to go to. Before you do that, you need to make sure that you've got your mortgage in place and you've found a good solicitor... There are a lot of solicitors out there, some cheap, some more expensive. From my experience, you do pay for what you get. If you don't want to deal with a call-centre, or want to be a number, and you want your purchase to be quick, then I suggest you steer away from some of the very big corporate companies.
